What is your role?
You have an essential role in managing credit & collection processes, procedures and systems from a to z in order to prevent losses. This entails that you assess creditworthiness of customers, you analyse financials and request additional information, and you detect and act upon financially struggling companies.
In this way, you acquire a unique view of the customer portfolio, which allows you to optimize Credit Control and ultimately advise management and sales departments. Also, you scan the market for financially sound international transport companies and you proactively seek contact to fully understand their financials.
In addition, you act as primary contact with credit insurance companies, or in the follow-up of overdue and litigation cases that are presented during the Credit Committee. You are a great help to the business in finding solid mitigation tools such as bank guarantees to secure and increase turnover. At all times, you focus on maintaining a good customer relationship.
Throughout, you cooperate in projects for continuous improvement and work out proposals. A thorough understanding of all payment methods in Turkey allows you to assist local sales teams in their credit activities and conduct regular meetings on customers, prospects, credit insurance, own risk and ageing.
What do you need to fulfill this role successfully?
- You have a Master’s degree (Finance) with proven experience in credit management, financial administrative processes and systems
- Obviously you are very proficient in Excel and most preferably SAP
- You are a naturally gifted organizer with solid social and communication skills
- You are able to professionally communicate in Turkish and English, other languages are a plus
- You have a gift for explaining yourself in an easy way
- You have an inquisitive and problem-solving mind, always on the lookout for innovation and opportunities to improve
- You can work independently, within a strong team player mindset
- Living in Istanbul
